                                               A Typical British Home

Many British people live in big houses in the countryside. Their houses are usually one-
storey, and they often have a backyard. They usually have two or three bedrooms and at
least one big bathroom. Most British homes have a bath and a shower in their bathroom.
Many modern British families have big living rooms where they spend time together. They
watch movies on flat-screen TVs and sometimes play video games together. The kitchen is
a very important room for British families too. They often cook together. The kitchens usually
have lots of pots and pans and a big oven with a stovetop.

British backyards sometimes have barbecues and a table and chairs. The weather is usually
bad in the UK, so British families only eat outside in the summer. Many British families have
pets that like playing in the backyard and sometimes have a vegetable garden.
British families enjoy spending time together, so their homes always have rooms to spend
           time with family.

It is a great job, but I work a lot. I wake up at 6 am every morning, and I get dressed.
I usually have cereal and a cup of coffee for breakfast. Then I get ready for work. I go
to work at 7:30 am. First, I check my emails and look at my timetable. My first class is

are great.I finish work at 4 pm and get home at about 5 pm. I usually do some exercise,

Stress is very bad for your , so you shouldn't work too much. You should

Hi! I'm Felicia. I am 17 years old, and I go to
school in Oxford in the UK. My school is great.
The teachers are really friendly, and the lessons
are fun. We have lots of different subjects like
art, music and gym class. There is a big sports
hall where we can play basketball. There isn't a
bookstore, but there is a library. I love reading
books, and literature is my favorite subject. There
isn't a café at my school, so we take our lunch to

school every day. There are 500 students at my
school, and we are all friends. There are 20 classes
at my school and 25 students in every class. My
brother Henry also goes to my school. He is 14
years old. He loves school, and he is very smart.
His favorite subject is history. We wear uniforms at
my school, so there aren't any problems with what
to wear. We all wear the same thing!

from Shanghai's Pudong airport to Longyang Road station in the city center. It has a
maximum commercial speed of 460 kph; this means the train completes the 30-kilometer
journey in just seven and a half minutes.

Chao Yin is a train driver who drives the Shanghai Maglev in China. Mr. Wao loves his
job. He drives the train every day from the airport to Pudong. It usually leaves from
platform 4 and takes up to 900 passengers. Mr. Yin says, 'The Shanghai Maglev is an
amazing train. It goes really fast, so all the train drivers must study to be able to drive
it. It is not an easy train to drive so you must learn all the rules. The most important
thing is that you must know how to stop the train in an emergency. And of course, you
mustn't have any health problems because the train goes very fast!'

The Shanghai Maglev is a popular train in China, but there are also other fast trains
around the world – for example, the Incheon in South Korea and the TGV in France.

But the Shanghai Maglev is still the fastest train in the world.
