              Hi Kyle,

How are you? I have a busy routine in Los Angeles. I get up at 7 in the morning. Then
I take a shower at 7:15. After that, I eat my breakfast at 7:30. Next, I go out and take a
bus to the university. My first class starts at 9 o’clock and finishes around 12 o’clock. Then
I have my lunch and wait for the next class. I usually stay on campus for 6 hours every
day. Then I go home at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. After school, I usually watch TV or

Muestra editorial solo para fines didácticos – Prohibida su venta
Thank you for your last letter. I am sorry to hear about your illness, and I hope you get
better soon. Also, congratulations on passing your exams! Anyway, I’m writing this letter
because the weather is great. It’s always rainy in Berlin, but today it’s sunny! July is usually
sunny. It’s 17 degrees Celsius. My family and I are having a picnic in the afternoon. I love
the parks in Berlin. They are big and green. We can sit on the grass and watch the dogs.
They are always running. It is only possible in July! You can’t have a picnic in June. It is
usually very rainy. You can’t have it in January, too. The weather is very cold in January.

           • Do you have any interesting traffic rules in your country?
           • What are they?
           • Why are they interesting?

Every country has its own driving laws. There are some common ones, but there are also
different and interesting ones. In Denmark, for example, the drivers must check under
the car before they drive it. They say there can be a person under the car. In Cyprus,
their drivers mustn’t eat or drink anything. In Massachusetts, you mustn’t drive with a
gorilla sitting at the back of your car. In California, you mustn’t jump from a fast car. One
interesting traffic rule comes from the Philippines. Drivers with the plates ending with 1
or 2 mustn’t drive on Mondays. Another comes from Colorado. The drivers mustn’t drive
            black cars on Sundays.

                                            Future Technology Ideas

There are some amazing inventions and innovations that will probably change the
world in the future. Hyperloop is a public transportation system. The system includes
a vacuum tube. The train will use compressed air and induction motors. It will travel
at a top speed of 1200 km/h. It will definitely shorten the time of travel. In the near
future, forest fires won’t be a problem. Researchers at George Mason University have
developed device to put out the fire in seconds. The device produces pressure waves.
These waves cut the oxygen supply, and the fire dies out. The researchers will place
this device into drones in the future—first, the driverless cars, and now the driverless
trucks. Logistics will step it up to a new level. There is no need for a human to run it.
There won’t be a break for sleeping for 8 hours. It will also decrease the accident rates.
